Ruby Lee Jones

Ruby Lee “Bang” Jones, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024. She was 72 years old. Bang was born in Collins, MS on July 23, 1952. She was the third child of the late Simon and Cevonia Jones. Bang grew up in the Friendship community, developing strong bonds and loving relationships with her siblings and cousins.

Bang was known for her quick wit, warm heart, strong love, and unwavering strength. She loved singing, cooking, and fishing. She dedicated her life to God and her family, raising two children Alex and Candace. Bang’s home was always filled with family, laughter, and love.

Bang accepted Christ at an early age and became a trusted church worker at Hopewell Church, Collins MS where she was a reliable choir member, the head usher, the kitchen manager, and served several years as the head custodian.

Bang worked for several years in the sewing industry before becoming a licensed cosmetologist. She also attended Jones College, Ellisville MS, to complete several early childhood education courses because she loved child-care work.

Bang is reunited in heaven with her only son Alex Jones and his partner Necole Haynes; her Granddaughter Alize; her parents Simon and Cevonia Jones, and her two beloved sisters Juanita Williams and Yvonne Easterling.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Candace Hall (Chad); longtime companion Willie “Head” Alexander; Grandchildren Austin, Alan, Quan’Darius, and Payshience; five Great Grandchildren; two loving Sisters Carolyn Fountain (James) and Deborah White; four Brothers Willie C Jones, Levern Jones (Michelle), Gregory Jones (Kathy), and Randy Jones; best friend Angela Hodges; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will always adore her.

Yvonne Easterling

Mrs. Yvonne Easterling was born June 28, 1954, in Collins, Mississippi. She departed this life January 3, 2023, in Anniston, Alabama.

She was united in holy matrimony to Floyd Easterling in August, 1978. To this union, three children were born. She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age, and was a faithful member of her church. She had a beautiful soprano voice and was a member of the church’s choir. Along with her choir, she appeared on the Bobby Jones Gospel Show.

In 1980, she moved to Anniston, Alabama, where she remained until her transition. Shortly after moving to Anniston, she completed cosmetology school. She continued her job as a cosmetologist until she semi-retired in 2019. She was known around Anniston as a songbird and a hair stylist.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Cevonia Jones; her sister, Juanita Williams, and her granddaughter, Emon Logan.

She leaves behind to cherish wonderful memories: Her husband, Floyd Easterling of Anniston, AL; 3 daughters: Sequellia Logan of Atlanta, GA, Pamela Goodman of St. Petersburg, FL, and Heather Easterling of Anniston, AL; 3 sisters: Carolyn (James) Fountain, Ruby Jones, and Deborah White, all of Collins, MS; 4 brothers: Willie C. Jones of Collins, MS, Levern (Michelle) Jones of Gulfport, MS, Gregory (Kathy) Jones, and Randy (Jan) Jones of Collins, MS; 8 grandchildren: Elexus, Emarius, Ekira, and Elisa Logan, Chantz and Kirsten Goodman, Ashley Richey and Brayden Cole; a huge host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
